Collection of general information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes details such as your web browser type, operating system, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar information. It consists exclusively of information that does not allow you to be personally identified. This information is technically necessary to deliver the website content you request correctly and is inevitably generated when using the internet. We evaluate anonymous information of this kind statistically to optimise our website and its underlying technology.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we use “cookies”. Cookies are small text files transferred from a website server to your hard drive. They automatically provide us with certain data about your computer and internet connection, such as your IP address, browser and operating system.
Cookies cannot be used to run programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies helps us make navigation easier and display our website correctly.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
You can, of course, generally view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please consult your browser's help function to find out how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you disable cookies.
SSL encryption
To protect your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (such as SSL) via HTTPS.
Contact form
Personal data that you submit electronically through this website, such as your name, email address, postal address or other personal details entered in a form or blog comments, is used together with the time of submission and IP address solely for the stated purpose, stored securely and not passed on to third parties.
We therefore use your personal data only to communicate with visitors who expressly wish to be contacted and to provide the services and products offered on this website. We do not disclose your personal data without consent; however, we cannot rule out access to this data in the event of unlawful conduct.
If you send us personal data by email, outside this website, we cannot guarantee secure transmission or the protection of your data. We recommend that you never send confidential data by unencrypted email.
Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation
Under the GDPR, you generally have the following rights:
- Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Article 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- Right to notification – obligation to notify in connection with the rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing (Article 19 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Article 21 GDPR)
- Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling (Article 22 GDPR)
If you believe that the processing of your data breaches data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (hereafter “Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files stored on your computer that enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Because IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, Google first truncates your IP address within member states of the European Union or other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services relating to website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data.
You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings; however, please note that you may then be unable to use all the features of this website in full. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
In addition to, or instead of, the browser add-on, you can prevent Google Analytics tracking on our website by clicking this link . This installs an opt-out cookie on your device, preventing Google Analytics from collecting data for this website and browser in future for as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)
To display our content correctly and attractively across browsers, we use script and font libraries such as Google Webfonts on this website (open here). Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid repeated loading. If your browser does not support Google Webfonts or blocks access, content is displayed in a standard font.
Accessing script or font libraries automatically establishes a connection to the library provider. In theory, providers of these libraries may collect data, although it is currently unclear whether they do so and, if so, for what purposes.
You can find Google's privacy policy as the library provider here.
Google AdWords
Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you reach our website through an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords sets a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks an advertisement placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If a user visits certain pages on our website before the cookie expires, we and Google can recognise that the user clicked the advertisement and was directed to that page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked across AdWords customers' websites. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked their advertisement and were directed to a page containing a conversion tracking tag. They do not receive information that allows users to be personally identified.
If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can prevent the necessary cookie from being set, for example by disabling automatic cookie storage in your browser settings or by configuring your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleleadservices.com”.
Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies if you do not wish measurement data to be recorded. If you delete all cookies in your browser, you will need to set the relevant opt-out cookie again.
Subscribing to our newsletter
You can subscribe to our newsletter on our website. Registration is required. The following information must be provided when registering:
First name and surname
Email address
The above data is necessary for processing. You may also voluntarily provide additional information, such as your interests, full address and messages. This data is used exclusively to personalise the information and offers sent to you and to tailor them more closely to your interests. If you have previously stayed with us or received an offer from us, your subscription will be added to the information already stored in our systems.
By registering, you consent to the processing of the data provided so that the newsletter can be sent regularly to your email address. User behaviour is also statistically analysed to optimise the newsletter. Under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, this consent forms the legal basis for processing your email address.
We use Re:Guest software, based at Alois-Kuperion-Straße 34, 39012 Merano, Italy, to send and statistically analyse the newsletter. The appropriate contractual arrangements and any required safeguards have been implemented with the provider.
At the end of every newsletter, you will find a link allowing you to unsubscribe at any time. From that point onwards, you should no longer receive promotional communications from us.
Your rights of access, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection
You have the right to obtain information at any time about the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to have your personal data rectified, blocked or erased, except where storage is required for business transactions. Please contact our data protection officer for this purpose. Contact details can be found at the bottom.
To ensure that a request to block data can be honoured at any time, the data must be retained in a blocking file for monitoring purposes. You may also request erasure of the data, provided that no statutory retention obligation applies. Where such an obligation exists, we will block your data on request.
You may amend or withdraw your consent with future effect by notifying us accordingly.
Changes to our privacy policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy from time to time to ensure that it continues to meet current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services, for example when introducing new services. The updated privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
Questions for the data protection officer
